Meet the Team: Tudor Hîncu, Country Manager (Luxembourg)

We have another exciting instalment to our Meet the Team series. This blog series is a fantastic opportunity for you to get to know a bit more about our consultants, their desks and the types of roles they recruit for. 

Next in our series, we sat down with Tudor Hîncu, Country Manager for Luxembourg and one of our Finance & Legal consultants. 

Earlier this year, Devonshire branched out to open up two new location hubs in Luxembourg and Ireland and we’re delighted to have Tudor join us as part of this great venture. 

 

Tell us a bit about yourself, what do you do at Devonshire? 

I’ve been selected to lead the Devonshire’s Luxembourgish desk and service local and international clients. 

 

Explain a bit more about your desk/sector and the types of roles you recruit for? 

Luxembourg is an important financial marketplace, especially the investment funds industry. Thanks to the extended knowledge I have acquired, I have built a strong and large network of clients and candidates.  

I am mainly specialising in investment funds, but I am also servicing similar sectors, such as wealth management, banking, private banking, etc. For these industries, I am recruiting all kind of profiles, from junior to top management roles, working in the financial and legal fields. 

 

In your opinion, what makes a candidate in your sector stand out from the crowd? 

Of course, relevant professional experience and a good CV will help a candidate to stand out from the crowd. As for my market, I believe the Luxembourgish language would probably be the skill to help candidates land a job faster and with a higher salary. 

 

What advice would you give to people wanting to get into your sector/progress in similar roles that you recruit for? 

For those looking to get into the funds industry, I would recommend being mentally prepared to work a lot in the first years as the competition can be tough. Plus, for those looking to progress in their careers, I would recommend having in their network a good recruiter, as a lot of interesting opportunities are usually off market. 

 

How have your first few months been at Devonshire? 

The first few months have been quite challenging but exciting as we were in the process of setting up the Luxembourgish desk. Working from home has given a lot of flexibility so I am able to meet and onboard new clients virtually as well as getting to know the rest of the Devonshire team.

Meticulous, competitive, result-oriented 

 

Finally, what’s your favourite motto/quote? 

“Per aspera ad astra” meaning “through hardships to the stars”
