Principal Consultant

Our client, a growth strategy and market intelligence organisation, are looking for a Principal Consultant potentially Director level to work in automotive and transformation consulting. This is an incredible opportunity to work with a leader in the industry.

You must have consultancy and specific industry experience within Commercial Vehicles (CV) over 12 tonnes.

Key elements of the job role:

The candidate will take ownership in managing and delivering strategic consulting engagement projects across Europe. You can be based in London or Germany but primarily home based with travel.

The focus will be to lead in bespoke consulting projects delivery, ensuring the integrity of strategic and tactical recommendations, whilst acting within the context of a ‘fee earning’ partnership model.

As the Principal Consultant, you will also be the definitive point of contact for clients and will be required to demonstrate expert knowledge of the markets and develop strong business partnerships.

Essential skills required:

  • A degree level education or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of research methodologies and/or strategic marketing
  • Fluency in written and spoken English language
  • Ability to forge close working relationships with a commercial acumen and analytical mind
  • The ability to work autonomously and also effectively in a team environment
  • A minimum of 5 years in fact-based consulting/market research with focus on complex ad-hoc studies
  • 10 years’ plus industry specific experience, experience working with OEM’s
  • Consultative thinking, focus on delivering the story, not just the data
  • Manage the delivery of major strategic consulting engagements from inception to completion, incorporating design, plan, cost, and management, primary research, developing bespoke client-focused solutions through commercial leadership
  • Strong analytical skills with sound understanding of and passion for research and consulting
  • Intercultural competence and experience in working closely with teams in a global matrix organisation
  • Proactive thinking
  • Organised, outgoing, and capable of delivering tangible results in a fast paced and creative environment
  • Attentive to details and showing strategic insights in the delivery of research findings
  • Excellent MS Office skills
